Themistoklis (Sammy) Aliferis is the founder and managing attorney of the Law Office of Sammy Aliferis, P.A., a boutique immigration practice based in Miami, Florida. With more than 20 years of experience as a DHS Trial Attorney, Immigration Judge, and private attorney, he has seen immigration law from every angle. This rare perspective enables him to anticipate how cases are reviewed and decided, providing his clients with clear strategies and confidence in complex situations.
Mr. Aliferis began his career in private practice, later serving as Assistant Chief Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security in Miami, where he prosecuted immigration cases. He was then appointed as an Immigration Judge at the Varick Immigration Court in New York City, presiding over removal and asylum matters.

Mr. Aliferis partners with corporations and businesses to secure employment visas, facilitate intracompany transfers, and maintain compliance with U.S. immigration requirements. Having worked inside the Department of Homeland Security and presided as an Immigration Judge, he understands how agencies approach cases — insight that helps businesses reduce risk, strengthen compliance, and align immigration strategy with workforce goals.
Beyond corporate immigration, Mr. Aliferis has represented families and individuals in petitions, naturalization, waivers, asylum, TPS, and removal defense. His years on the bench judging asylum and removal cases give him a practical understanding of what arguments and evidence truly matter — knowledge he now uses to protect rights and support clients through some of life’s most challenging moments.
